U-pick haskap

WHAT IS HEAVEN?

This small fruit that looks like an elongated blueberry has a very different taste. It is often associated with blackcurrant or blackberry, mixed with a taste of raspberry, plum and blueberry.
It is a berry very rich in antioxidant, vitamin A and C and fiber. It is excellent for health.
Come and taste some of them, and let yourself be tempted to pick them to make recipes or to eat as is like strawberries or raspberries.
Haskap is very rich in antioxidants, fibers and vitamins.

COLLECTION PERIOD
From mid-June to mid-July.

You can pick your haskaps yourself, or buy them already picked at kiosk  at the reception.

CONTAINERS

We provide containers for collection. Other types of containers are not permitted because, as with strawberries, the price of haskap is fixed by the container and not by the pound.

HOW TO COLLECT THEM

Choose the ones that are completely blue. The interior should be burgundy. If it is still green, they are not ready.
In fact, once picked, haskaps no longer ripen.

HOW TO STORE THEM

Clean fruit with cold water only when using.

Haskap will keep for two or three weeks in the refrigerator. To get the most out of their taste, take them out an hour before eating them.

Check the condition of the haskap and discard any that show bruising. Damaged fruits rot quickly and can contaminate others. However, unless they show mold, these fruits can be used to make compote or jam. Just store them in an airtight container in the freezer and prepare the recipe when you have enough.
They are cooked like strawberries or raspberries.
