BEAUREGARD'S FARM SELF PICKING, STE-MADELEINE
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES DIRECTLY FROM THE PRODUCER
Beauregard self-picking is a small farm where you can pick our own berries or vegetables. We work throughout the year to improve the facilities of our sites in order to welcome you in a clean, friendly and safe environment for the family.
THE PERFECT PLACE TO PICK
Beauregard self-picking, owned by Simon Beauregard, a native of Sainte-Madeleine, is a 60-arpent farm. Toilets are provided and there is drinking water. Bring your water bottles. You can fill them out on site.
Also a playground and picnic tables are available for all. Oh yes! and there is also the mini-farm where you can feed the animals.
WHEN IS THE IDEAL TIME TO PICK?
In order to know the ideal time to come and pick our fruits at the beginning of summer or our vegetables at the end of summer, follow us on the Facebook page of Beauregard autocueillette
We publish twice a week an update of the state of our fields, specifying the quantities available for each fruit and vegetable.
ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT
A minimum of water
For some of our small fruits such as strawberries for example, we use an underground watering system called drip. This is a set of pipes located directly under the plants. The system keeps the base of the plant moist at all times. This makes it possible to produce very beautiful fruits while saving more than 50% water!
A minimum of insecticide
Insects are fond of berries and vegetables, just like you!
To counter the insects, we take advantage of other insects. Trichogramma are very, very small insects that feed on the larvae of other insects before they are born.
These trichograms allow us to minimize the use of insecticides that we will only use in targeted areas when necessary rather than on the entire field.
When they mature, they become small butterflies. Learn more about our ecological and sustainable agriculture.
LOCAL PURCHASE
Buying directly from the farm not only encourages local buying, but also encourages what is called the short circuit. Rather than buying products that have to be transported over long distances, you buy directly from the producer at a better price. Everyone wins!
